Pentawards是全球首个也是唯一的专注于各种包装设计的竞赛。它面向所有国家里与包装创作和市场相联系的每一位人员。根据作品的创作质量，优胜者将分别获得Pentawards铜质、银质、金质、铂金、钻石奖。2009最新的Pentawards国际包装设计奖已出炉，获得最佳设计奖（钻石奖）的是一套水果纸巾盒设计，颁予Diamond Pentawards钻石奖，颁发镶有一克拉钻石的Pentawards奖座。
每年的Pentawards国际包装设计奖参赛项目分为饮料、食品、个人用品、奢侈品及其它等五大类别，其中再细分48个子项目，由评审团评议出子类别的各个奖项目。
